Carers Event at Lakeside Surgery, Corby

Last week, Lakeside Surgery in Corby was buzzing with energy and goodwill during a special event for carers. More than 40 dedicated individuals attended, seeking guidance on essential matters such as accommodation, finance, fire safety, and social activities.

Our team at Accommodation Concern was represented by both Rebecca Jolley and Rajbeer Kaur. Rebecca, shared her insights: 'We provide advice around housing, welfare benefits and debt and also help if a property is unsuitable or in disrepair.' Rajbeer, our reliable debt adviser, was also on hand to offer support and answer questions regarding debt management and related issues.

The positivity radiating from the attendees was truly heartening. The success of the event hints at the potential for future gatherings of this nature, an idea we wholeheartedly back at Accommodation Concern!

A testament to the event's success came from Yvonne, a carer who attended: "I was pleasantly stunned... I wasn’t aware of half of the help and services that are available out there, so this was a really useful event." Her words reinforce the value of such meetings and stoke our commitment to continue reaching out and supporting our community.

It was a proud moment to stand side by side with other community-oriented organisations such as Northants Carers, Northants Fire and Rescue, Northants Association for the Blind, and the Autumn Centre. Together, we are making a positive difference in the lives of our local carers.

A special salute to the Lakeside Surgery team, the nurses, the social prescribing teams, and event coordinator Kareema McCarthy, Personalised Care Manager for Rockingham Forest PCN. Their tireless efforts made this extraordinary event possible and showcased what we can accomplish when we come together.
