We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Tenancy Engagement Worker to join our team.

Do you have a passion for empowering individuals with complex needs? We are looking for a Tenancy Engagement Worker to join our dedicated team. This is an opportunity to make a significant difference, helping individuals to maintain their tenancy, in the future and achieve greater independence.

This is a multifaceted role supporting people with underlying, multiple and / or complex needs facing multiple exclusion (substance abuse / addiction / mental health issues / disability / family breakdown / criminal justice system) to be able to sustain their tenancy, prevent evictions and identify housing solutions for those who find themselves homeless or vulnerably housed.

About the Role

As a Tenancy Engagement Worker, you will:

  • Provide person-centered, trauma-informed support to clients with complex needs, including substance abuse, mental health issues, and histories with the criminal justice system.
  • Work closely with clients in supported accommodation to foster sustainable, independent living.
  • Conduct regular keywork sessions, maintaining up-to-date electronic records, and liaising with external agencies to coordinate comprehensive support.
  • Develop and review individual support plans, ensuring progress is monitored and goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver intensive, wrap-around support through a strengths-based approach.
  • Maintain accurate case management records and perform assessments for client eligibility.
  • Liaise with Adult Social Care, Criminal Justice, Health services, and training agencies to maximise outcomes for clients.
  • Conduct risk assessments and follow lone working procedures to ensure personal safety.
  • Encourage residents to develop routines and life skills, empowering them to maintain tenancy responsibilities and eventually transition to permanent housing.

About You

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • GCSE-level qualifications or equivalent in English and Maths, with strong IT skills.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and a creative approach to engagement.
  • A thorough understanding of the Housing First model and the interplay between mental health, substance abuse, and offending behaviors.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with empathy, resilience, and a commitment to advocacy.
  • A valid driving license and access to a car for client visits across Northamptonshire.
